Promote hygiene and professionalism in your salon by encouraging each client to purchase a personal set of nail files, stored exclusively for their use. The NELÉ File Zebra Straight 180/180 Grit combines versatility, comfort, and durability, making it an essential tool for achieving flawless nails whether you're a professional nail technician or home user.
It is crucial to ensure that new nail files are properly blunted and prepared before their first use. This step helps prevent accidentally cutting your clients’ cuticles or sidewalls (skin) during the filing process. To blunt the sharp edges of a new nail file, take an old nail file and run it along the edges of the new one. Repeat this step on all four sides until you can feel that there are no sharp edges capable of causing accidental cuts. Your nail file is now smooth and ready to use.
To shorten the free edge of the nail, hold the file straight at a 90-degree angle to the free edge and horizontally to the cuticle area. File in multi-directional strokes, ensuring all ten nails are the same length. To shape the free edge, view the nails from the reverse perspective (the client’s view) and use single-direction strokes to create a uniform shape across all ten nails.
When filing enhancement products or artificial tips, always follow a set pattern to avoid missing spots or over-filing.
For proper hygiene, disinfect the nail file by brushing off all dust with a NELÉ Nylon Dusting Brush. Spray the file with NELÉ Sanitizer, and allow it to air dry on a disposable paper towel before storing it in a clean container.
It is recommended that each client purchase a personal set of nail files. The nail technician should store these in a clean, labeled container exclusively for the client’s use, ensuring optimal hygiene and professionalism.
